【原创】Farewell Reflection

The time train of 2025 is pulling into the station, and my professional journey is about to arrive at its next stop.

Looking back, my career path has remained just as it always was—filled with requirements, bugs, and design proposals.

In my relatively short professional career, I’ve encountered more absurd system designs than most:
— Database configurations scaled up to Tencent Cloud’s maximum specs, yet still insufficient;
— Single tables holding six or seven hundred million records;
— SQL queries joining over ten tables;
— Indexes occupying 70% of storage while actual data takes up only 30%;
— Requirements submitted in the afternoon, expected to go live the same afternoon;
— ACL-based permission systems that only controlled page-level buttons;
— Business volume reaching millions of orders per day, yet with virtually zero information security safeguards in place.

I’m grateful that my professional kindness remains intact—I’ve done my best, within my means, to treat everyone around me with care. As the tech industry intensifies under the influence of AI, competition has grown fiercer, and companies keep yo-yoing between hiring and layoffs. Yet, by adjusting how we work and what we focus on, I’ve managed to protect every teammate’s position.

Discovering each person’s unique value—and finding where personalities align for effective collaboration—is truly fascinating. In our team, everyone has their worth, their place, and the chance to realize their potential.

I’ve also been deeply inspired by my younger colleagues when it comes to learning. In the midst of overwhelming workloads, simply having a learning goal is rare—and sticking with it demands tremendous willpower.

In the next two years, I hope to stay self-motivated and finally fulfill the dream I left behind in high school…
Who knows? Maybe it’ll actually come true.
